May 1, 2004 - 9:28 PM |
Something interesting that has been happening here in summerside for the past few weeks in Cup Crazy Trivia at the Heritage Pub. Tonight was the first chance I have had to go and this was one of the most interesting trivias I have ever been to.
First of all there are no teams. Its everyone for themselves, and its all "Snapper" Questions. Meaning, the guy reaads a question, if you have an answer you yell it out, if you are wrong it will cost you a quarter. If you are right he will give you a prize. These Prizes may include:
Drink Tickets
T-Shirts
Sweat Shirts
NHL Team Glasses
X-Box Games
This event is sponsored by Labatts Blue. So every Labatts Blue Product you purchase you get a ballot, for a draw later on that night for a X-Box....Thast right they give an X-Box away every week. There are 2 weeks left, you can guarentee I will be there for the last 2. And the best part about it, is that its Free to play, you just need quarters to throw for answers. |

Since I had started going to school at Holland College, I, being the poor struggling student moved back home and have lived here since then (August 1999). After today I got the finaliztion that I will be moving into my own appartment next week for March 1st. Its a Bachelor Appartment located at 216 Water street. For those not sure, its the same building on the left of the Royal Bank, in the little plaza, upstairs Appartment #1. I am picking up the keys Sunday, and will start moving in throughout the week. This place has more storage area then most appartments do so I think I will be happy here for quite a while. Its a 2 minute walk from where I work, and only a 4 minute walk to Bernies lounge where I do my Trivia and Darts Any house warming gifts would be appreciated *hehe* |

Knee Finally Fixed |
November 25, 2003 - 8:35 AM |
Ripped cartilidge in the knee is not a fun way to live. Since July 8th, I have been trying to get through pain of movement, and most of all stairs. Thast right Stairs, for 4 monts now I have been walking up the stairs one stair at the time, with each foot taking one step at a time, a very long hard process. November 10th I was suppose to have arthoscopic surgery and was postponed due to me having a head cold, so I waited another 2 long frustrating weeks to go back in. Well it finally happened and my knee is all fixed. I actually had 3 things done to my knee....1)Arthoscope - they send in a scope to check out the problems with my knee 2)Meniscectomy - While the scope is in, they trim and scrape damaged cartilidge 3)Debvidement a process of cleaning lose cartilide and fluids from my knee. I was at the Hospital at 7:00 and was taken to the Operating Room at 7:30. From what I can gather from the nurses, I was put to sleep, and the surgery started at 7:50 and was finished in about 30 minutes. I woke up at 8:30, and stayed in the recovery room for about 15 minutes and then was moved to the Day Surgery room till 11:00. What a long wait. For all those wondering how I took the anesthetic...It made me overly nautious. They pumped me Gravol via Intervenus. |

Picture In The Paper |
November 1, 2003 - 6:00 PM |
Last monday morning I had the opportunity to join a breakfast at the Silver Fox Club for PEI's Small Business Week. Being employed by Student Connections we decided to set up a booth to inform people about our services. At the end of the breakfast a photographer from the Journal Pionner took a picture of me and my boss by our booth. This was taken Monday October 20th, 2003, and was issued November 1st, 2003. Just for the people wondering, at the breakfast I had Scrambled eggs, Toast, Bacon and Sausage, Hash Browns, and a Glass of Milk. |

New Employment |
October 31, 2003 - 1:32 PM |
Once again, I have been offered a contract job. For the past number of months I have been working with Holland College Student Connections. Now that my contract had pretty much run out, it was time to find other employment. I am happy to say that as of today, I was offered a position with the Wyatt Heritage Properties developing add ons to their website. In a nutshell, they want me to hook their Microsoft Access databases to the website so the public has access to their information. So Starting next week I will be working in there 37½ hours a week. |

Simpsons Trivia Night |
October 15, 2003 - 3:53 PM |
OK a long over due Jazz Update, I need to talk about the Simpsons Trivia Night I had 2 weeks ago. This was the most spectacular trivia night I have ran in the 7 months I have been doing trivia. Charging $5 a head, plus having 50/50 tickets, I was able to give a huge prize amounts. 1st - $112 2nd - $56 3rd - $36. The 50/50 went for $40.50. As well I was able to give out a number of Door Prizes. I had 2 GAP articles donated, 4 T-Shirts from Bernies Lounge, a T-Shirt from Shoppers Drug Mart, a 12" pizza from Pizza Delight, and a $25 Gift certificate from Mark's Work Wearhouse. It was a great night thats for sure. I am planning on running some other specialized trivia nights. I have been asked to do a "Friends" night, as well as an "NHL", and a "Disney" night. |

Absolutely Perfect |

Its been a few weeks since I have typed an update about Darts, and now my first at Money Darts. Today with 14 people signed up to play, and after names were drawn for teams of two. I had the luck of having Don Young on my team. Money darts is done by playing a complete Round Robin, and playing 3 games of 501 down against each team. With having 6 opponents, there are 18 games, with 1 round being a BYE. Having our names drawn 1 and 2 we sat out first round on a Bye. Don and I took first place, but not just that, him and I won ALL 18 games. My highest Throw today was a 123 (T-20, T-20, T-1), and my highest Takeout was a 89 (T-19, D16) This was considered the Men Highest Takeout until Alphonse took out a 108. This is an actual picture of my Dart. They are a 22oz Tungsten Dart, with a Unicorn/Fiesta aluminum shaft, and Dimplex Flights. In which I buy the Shafts and Flights at Wal-Mart. |

Trivia 3 weeks 3 Records in a row |
August 8, 2003 - 7:17 AM |
Its kind of funny how things happen in weird ways. Two weeks ago I laid here and made a post about how I made the most I had ever made at trivia. Last week, I hit an alltime low and was very disgusted with it. Last night, I hit a new record again with my snapper questions, I went from a $60.25 night, to a $62.75 night. It was a great Trivia night, I actually started 10 minutes earlier and it ended 20 minutes late. The Snapper that seemed to make me the most money, was "Sesame Street has had how many Emmy nominations since it first began" |

Meat Darts comes out with Surprise!!! |
August 4, 2003 - 11:58 PM |
Monday night and another night at playing meat darts, except this time during play I ended up with this beer ticket. They dont normally give beer tickets at meat darts, but I did something I didn't think I would do for years yet, and thats finally nail a 180 points in a single turn. Thats 3 Triple 20's, the highest you can possibly make in one turn. I am still overly excited about this!! Before this my highest throw was a 160 which is 2 triple 20's and a double 20, and I knew sooner or later a 180 would come to me, but I truely thought it would be more of a Later thing then sooner. Guarenteed I am not going to use this drink ticket (Even though its worth 2 pop instead of 1 beer for me) This one I think will get laminated and kept in my dart case. |
